11 Days Trip From Casablanca to Erg Chebbi Sahara

DAY 1 : Casablanca

Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, your private driver will greet you at the airport and escort you to your Casablanca hotel, where you will check in and relax. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a tour of the Hassan II mosqueone of the most elaborately designed mosques in North Africa! Dinner will be served in your hotel.

DAY 2 : Casablanca - Rabat - Fes

After breakfast, you will leave with your driver towards Fes. On route, you will stop at Rabat, the capital city and residence of the King. You will enjoy a visit to this Imperial city, the La Tour Hassan Tower, Chellah and more… You will have lunch and a time to enjoy the beautiful coastal city. After lunch, you will continue on to Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco. Dinner will be served at the riad.

DAY 3 : Fes Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast at the Riad, discovering the world's largest medina dates back to the 9th century walking through its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter named "Mellah" built in the 16th century. We explore the medina's many artisans' quarters, such as the brass, copper and wedding adornment souks. The carpenters, bakers & butchers also have their area of the medina that they call home. A highlight is a visit to the famous tannery Fes tannery, where we have a great view of the world. We will also have a look at the city of Moulay Idriss. It's Mausoleum (the founder of Fes), the 9th century Al Karaouine University and one of the many Medersas (Koranic school). Overnight in the Riad.

DAY 4 : Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

After an early breakfast, you will set out in the morning to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will spend the morning exploring the 2000-year-old ruins and getting a picture of life during the Roman Empire. Lunch will be taken in Moulay Idris, one of the holiest cities in Morocco. After lunch, your guide will take you on a tour of the imperial city, Meknes. You will return to Fes in the evening for dinner at the riad.

DAY 5 : Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Erfoud

Today we leave Fez towards Erfoud, En-route you'll pass through a scenic forest of cedars and across the Middle Atlas Mountain range to the mineral mining city of Midelt , where a stop for lunch is scheduled. This journey continues along through the dramatic Ziz valley which is particularly well-known for its palm trees and the length of the oasis. All along the road there are innumerable ksars, small villas of individual houses. From here we reach Erfoud, famous for its date festival and fossils. After an approximate 7 hours of travel you will arrive at your final destination of Erfoud. Dinner and night in a Kasbah hotel.

DAY 6 : Sahara Desert ( Merzouga Erg Chabbi)

After a leisurely breakfast, you will explore the small desert towns of Erfoud and Rissani. In the afternoon, you will head off in some 4-wheel drive vehicles across the barren land to the majestic Sahara sand dunes. You will set off by camel for a 1/2-hour trek out onto the dunes to watch the sunset. You will then spend the night in deluxe Berber tents. ***Returning to the hotel to sleep is an option if you would prefer hotel to tent.

Dinner will be served in the camp!

DAY 7 : Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate

After breakfast, you will return to the 4x4s and head back to Erfoud. From Erfoud, you will set out behind the High Atlas Mountains on route to Ouarzazate! Along the way, you may enjoy a walk in the towering Todra Gorges (600 feet high). The picturesque Dades Valley makes for a beautiful journey towards the southeast of Morocco. From here, you will set off towards Ouarzazate along the Route of 1,000 Kasbahs! If you would like, you can visit the ancient Kasbahs in the palmaries. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, you can visit this southern town, probably most famous now for the films that have been produced in the area.Dinner will be served in the hotel.

DAY 8 : Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After breakfast, you will set off to Marrakech via Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Tucked away in the High Atlas Mountains, it is one of the jewels of Morocco. In typical Moroccan fashion, the true treasures must be searched out and discovered…usually off the beaten path. In actuality, this setting has been used for more films than any other location in Morocco; films including, Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and The Gladiator.

After lunch, you will head over the mountains to Marrakech. Once in Marrakech, you will check into your hotel and then head off to the jemaa el-Fna, the center square of the medina. The famous Jemaa el-Fna, is one of the center attractions of Marrakech. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbeque pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of tea on the terrace of an adjacent café provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square. Dinner will be served at the Riad.

DAY 9 : Marrakech Sightseeing tour

After breakfast you will enjoy the guided city tour of Marrakech. The morning begins with a visit to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque as the landmark of Marrakech which has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. Your next stop is the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. The Saadian tombs in Marrakech date back from the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service. The mausoleum combines the interments of about sixty members of the Saadian Dynasty that originated from the valley of the Draa River. After lunch break, You Continue to the world-famous Jemaa el Fna Square, which houses an array of food, snake charmers, local musicians, and fortune-tellers. There's now on Earth like the Jemaa el Fna, the square at the heart of old Marrakesh. You will also walk through the souks and view hundreds of handicrafts. Night with breakfast at the Riad / Hotel.

DAY 10 : Marrakech to Casablanca

After breakfast, you will enjoy a free morning in Marrakech to relax and explore. You may like to try a cooking class (USD$80 per person, must be arranged in advance) or visiting the lovely Marjorelle Gardens. After lunch and at your convenience, you will drive to Casablanca and check into your hotel. Dinner will be served at Casablanca’s famous restaurant, Rick’s Café! Enjoy your final evening in Morocco!

DAY 11 : Casablanca - Depart

You will be taken to the airport for departure.
